Traveller Inceptio is my first published book.
There are a few others that are ready to rock and roll, but I have to get that first cab off the rank.
The publishing industry is like music an art. it’s constantly changing with digital media making so many works available. Now, as a published author, I have to engage in activities that highlight myself as an author. Many of the bigger publishing empires are in decline, so it is generally accepted that Publishers do little until my profile is raised to the point that I can be easily placed into book stores and media. It’s essentially a ‘chicken and egg’ thing, so I am the one to raise my profile and sales. If I could do that by myself, I really wouldn’t need a publisher.
Alas, it’s the story of writers and authors everywhere.
Part of my process has been to seek reviews, a difficult task as that requires people to read the book, then take the time to write a review. Fortunately some literary bloggers who have given their time to read and review, and the reviews have been overwhelmingly popular. For these I am most grateful. To read the reviews, you can try Amazon, or this link to the publisher’s site at Austin Macauley.
The other activity in which any author must engage is Social Media. To be honest, it’s not what I would prefer. I have devised a corny way to get a little attention, which is to picture someone, each day, with my book. I also post a picture a day of a topic relating to my travels, or to the history and content of Traveller Inceptio. Approaching people to be photographed with my book isn’t something I naturally desire, but it seems to be gathering momentum.
When I engaged in the epic journey to ride around northern India with my son, we took many pictures of the beautiful people of India with my novel Traveller Inceptio. Here is the beginning of our journey …
Here are but a few::
